Favourite Christmas Film?

What's your favourite Christmas movie? As for me, I love all sorts of stuff about Santa Claws, the reindeer, Frosty The Snowman etc, especially the classics, the ones with music and narration. I don't know why, but they always fill my heart with joy, and I really only started watching them last year. Kind of late at 23, but that's ok. *smile* But back to the question, I really don't know the answer. I'm watching Rudolph, The Red-nosed Reindeer. I found this story about Santa Claws as a boy that was really enjoyable. I think it's from the 80's, so it's not as old as the rest, but some modern stuff is great too.

I love a Christmas Story, and a Christmas carol. But, out of all the Christmas Carol movies that were made, at least out of the ones that I've seen, my favs are the muppet's christmas carol, and the christmas carol with patrick stewart that was made for TNT.

Ooh, more Christmas stuff! yay!

I love Frosty the Snowman, it's one of my favorite Christmas cartoon-type things. I also really like the original Grinch, and The Holiday, and the Charlie Brown Christmas. And this one Christmas movie I used to watch when I was little, something about two little bears who wanted to see Santa, but their mom wanted to hibernate--I can't remember what it's called. I pretty much love all Christmas movies and cartoons, except "A Christmas Story". Everyone seems to enjoy that movie, but I hate it. Lots. My very favorite of all favorite Christmas movies, though, is "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Lol. That's one of my favorite movies in general, actually.

I wanna see the one about the bears! I've never heard of that one. I like A Christmas Story, but it's certainly not my favourite. I could take it or leave it. As for A Christmas Carol, I have a radio drama of it that was done in the 40's that I adore, but have to find. I also have Miracle On 34th Street on cassette and know it's a regular film, so maybe, it's the same with this version of A Christmas Carol, but I'm not sure.

I love Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and I also think the new version of The Grinch is brilliant.

Anyone ever seen the Nightmare before Christmas? I love that one.

I think my favorite is the Miracle on 34th street that was done back in the 30's or 40's. Jen, As a trekker, I'd really like to see Patrick Stewart's Christmas Carol. I have a recording of his one-man rendition of it. Its very good as an audio, but he has no business making bell noises.

I love all the charlie brown christmas specials[I think there's like 3 of them?] The original Grinch, the muppets christmas carol and the vertion with Kelcy grammer, this randomn special called Nick and Noelle about a dog and a cat who go and try to bring a little girl's letter to santa because she wants a mom for christmas and the christmas shoes. There're probably others, but I can't think of them.

Awe, I wanna see Nick and Noelle . It sounds great. I've also wanted to see The Christmas Shoes for quite awhile. The song really touched me deeply.

hahahahah lou, I wish I knew how or when I'd next see you, because I'd let you borrow it. But I'm not going to be at the alumni christmas party. Maybe I could try and get someone to pass it on. E-mail me if you want to about it. smile. It's really a good production, in my opinion.

Ok... Let's see. Rudolf, Charlie Brown Frosty, Santa Clause is coming to town, the Santa Clause TheGrinch of course, and It's a wonderful Life are some o my favorite classics. The Christmas Soes had me bawling like a baby at the end... The new Grinch is ok, but not nearly as goodas the old one. Christmas with the Cranks is awesome too.... so damn funny, but I think the funniest modern Christmas movie has to be, without a doubt, Elf. , but I am pleased to know that my very very favorite Christmas movie hasn't been named yet. My favorite favorite hands down Christmas movie is White Christmas

Post 18 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Wednesday, 02-Jul-2008 9:55:43

So ya want a bit of Christmas in July? OK, I'll bring it right on. First, there's absolutely nothing like those classic animated specials done by Rankin-Bass. I grew up with those, and I'm old enough to see a few of them premier. Also, gotta have that original Grinch and Charlie Brown. Live action movies? Well, It's a toss-up between "A Christmas Story" and another one that nobody's mentioned, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." I also like "Elf" and "The Santa Clause."
BTW, the animated show with the bears taht want to meet Santa I believe is called "Santa and the Three Bears." It may not air on TV anymore, but if you look around it can be had on DVD in some form or other, usually on some rather low-priced DVDs with other Christmas cartoons.

I forgot one... "The Snowman."

Some of my favorites already mentioned here include miracle on 34th street, a Muppet Christmas Carol, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. On the subject of the muppets, one of my favorite Christmas specials of all time is the Muppet Family Christmas. This is the one from the 80's, and it included the characters from the Muppet Show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock.
Finally, one thing I make a point of watching every year is the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. This is an incredibly cheezy movie, and Joel and the Bots do a fantastic job ripping it to shreds.
